Let's talk my top tips for dealing with anxiety while thrifting - fun topic right?
A local store to me The Trading Post in Marietta Ohio had their Christmas sale today and posted these pictures. Now imagine 40+ people minimum crammed in this space plus the Noise! Not my cup of tea.
Fortunately over the years I've figured out what works for me so that I can shop for what I want and leave when it gets overwhelming.
First, I scour pictures they post like these. I pick one thing. Bonus points if you can see what I went for!
Second, I get there early enough to be close to the front in line. Today was 40ish minutes early and I was 5th.
Third, I go straight for the item I picked out and then BAIL! I find the other less occupied sections of the store or rummage sale and shop there until the rush dies down.
Finally, I go back once I see there's room to move and breathe without getting trampled and shop at my leisure. I find plenty of things after the initial rush happens that makes it worth it to me.
I'll post the Christmas items I picked up later on today or tomorrow!
