All this rain has our U-Pick gardens sitting in a whole lot of water. With our heavy clay soil, the water just doesn’t drain away very quickly. We’re hoping to open the gardens soon, but right now we’re taking it day by day.

Luckily, our market gardens are at a location with much sandier soil, so they’re handling all this rain a little better and the water isn’t sitting.

Fingers crossed the dahlias hold up and don’t start to rot. We’ll assess everything later this week and hopefully have a better idea of when we can open the U-Pick gardens!

Still couldn’t decide which color palette to bring, so we decided to bring a little bit of everything to market!

If you were picking out a bouquet at the farmers market tomorrow, which color palette would you choose?

A. Soft & neutral — creams, whites, blush, and soft peach
B. Jewel tones — deep reds, purples, burgundy, and blues
C. Bright & bold mix — hot pinks, oranges, yellows, and bright purples etc.

Peony season has been over for a couple of months now, but here is a look at one of the celebrations our flowers were a part of!

We had the opportunity to design mantels along with several other pieces for this baby shower featuring our peonies. Such a sweet celebration for a baby girl! Peony season was a little different this year with the cold, wet spring. We had quite a bit of bud blast where the blooms never developed, and with all the moisture, we also dealt with some fungal issues.

Even with a challenging peony season, it was fun to design with the blooms we did have for such a beautiful day! 🩷

Our little gardener has been making the rounds and checking on the flowers. 🌸

The U-pick gardens are starting to color up, and we'll be opening in just a few short weeks. We can't wait to share them with you. More details coming soon!

A few organically grown greenhouse dahlias are making an appearance in this week's bouquets!

The field dahlias are still a few weeks away, but we'll be at the Bluffton Farmers Market tomorrow morning, July 25, with fresh mix bouquets and vegetables. Find us under the yellow tent!

What a busy day!

A huge shoutout to my dad and Dalton. Dad built this beautiful float for the Arlington Homecoming Festival celebrating 250 years of America while I was busy with a Friday wedding.

Of course, my tractor decided to quit after he stopped to show Grandma at the nursing home. Dalton pulled Dad all the way back home and, as usual, Dalton had the tractor running again in no time.

Meanwhile, I was finishing up wedding flowers before we loaded up and headed to Nevada for a beautiful wedding setup. We made it home just in time for the parade... only to have rain pour the entire time! Thankfully we decided to have the truck pull the float instead of the tractor.

The day wrapped up with harvesting fresh blooms from the greenhouse and garden for tomorrow's Bluffton Farmers Market. Somewhere in between all of that, we were also chasing around our busy 1 year old, who was right along with us for the day's adventures! 🩷
