Many folks have called and expressed their sadness that the barn is closed, but there is some good news out there: Two of our artisans have found a new home for their work. Paula Tamborlane and Nancy Donker have their work at the Grey Goose at 536 Main Street, Wayne, Maine, 207-685-3252. Paula's unique jewelry has become very popular over the last couple of years and its wonderful that the Grey Goose gave her a venue for her work. Nancy's basket are famous hereabouts for their originality and quality of construction. The Grey Goose is an antique shop in downtown Wayne that is open 7 days a week. Check it out!

The Artisan's Barn will be closed until further notice. We are working on reconfiguration and when we are ready to make a public announcement about out status. But until that time we are closed!

The Artisan's Barn is closed for the season and with the 1" of ice surrounding everything we are definitely and completely closed. Snowing now--feel like Nanook of the North! Belated Christmas greetings and best wishes to all our friends for a healthy Happy New Year.

The Artisan of the Week is Lori Watts of Fine Mess Pottery, Augusta, Maine. Lori works her magic with clay in making every day objects into memorable gifts that are colorful and practical. Lori's works are dishwasher safe and lead free. We are very fortunate to have a nice inventory of Lori's mugs, butter dishes, and casseroles -- the perfect gift.

Nancy Donker of Northwoods Basket Weaving, Monmouth, Maine is the Artisan of the Week. Nancy's baskets are beautifully woven and always have a creative flair, sometimes using a special found item that gives it that special look and is perfect as a unique gift. We carry a large collection of Nancy's baskets, come visit and choose your favorite.

The Artisan's of the Week are the Inmates at the Maine State Prison that participate in their program that produces all the incredible handmade wooden furniture and children's wooden toys that are featured at The Artisan's Barn. These toys are sturdily made and are lead free--great gifts for the children on your Christmas list

The Artisan of the Week is Maine Mountain Soap and Candle Co., of Greenville, Maine. The Artisan's Barn carries their beeswax candles, and Skin Balm, bug repellent. The candles come in pillars[different sizes], tapers, votives and tea lights. All their candles that the barn carries are unscented and 100% beeswax and beautifully crafted. There is nothing like a beeswax candle--slow burning and a beautiful soft glow.
