⭐ What makes the 1977 toys special?

The original Kenner line debuted in 1978, but the toys are generally considered the 1977–era Star Wars toys because the movie was released in 1977 and Kenner’s first products were developed and sold around that launch.

One of the most important pieces is the Early Bird Certificate.

Kenner wasn’t ready to manufacture the full toy line for Christmas 1977, so they sold an Early Bird Certificate Package. Kids received a cardboard display/package with certificates that could be mailed in for the first four action figures.
