Omg I want one like this.

Absolutely magical. Designed to hold sewing needles in 19th-century England, this is proof that art exists in the most unexpected places. It's gorgeous!

Congratulations to this year's Mettler Thread Mastery Award Winner, Sue de Vanny's Pictorial Quilt, 'Born to be Wild'.

Judges comments: "The collaged fabrics create interesting conversation with the elaborate thread play and brings the animals to life. The shadow of the adult and the lacy cut work allow us to see a deeper story. The raw edgy finish frames the story really well."

Stitching time!!

I have chatted with several people lately that have lamented that they are too busy to stitch. But where there is a will, there is a way. Over the years I have developed a number of ways to make stitching a part of my daily life, even if it is only a few minutes each day. First, I always have something to work on easily to hand....

A well deserved win.

A well deserved win.

Congratulations to this year's Handi Quilter Best in Show Winner, Sung Yeon Park's Art Quilt, 'Silent Eyes'

Judges comments: "This quilt beautifully conveys the fragility and delicacy of the butterfly wing. The rich gradations of brown contrast well with the colourful accents. The clever use of corded trapunto adds structure and dimension of the piece."
