PSRC Equity Advisory field trip to the Washington State History Museum in downtown Tacoma is where they are currently celebrating a 30th anniversary. The museum marks three decades of collecting, preserving, and sharing Washington’s stories through rotating exhibits, public programs, and educational outreach. It was fun to take a trip down memory lane — we have come a long way since the boom box.

Also on view:
"This Is Native Land" (new permanent exhibition): developed with more than 100 Native participants from 60 Tribes, this landmark installation centers Indigenous perspectives with community-curated objects, oral histories, contemporary and traditional art, language materials, and storytelling that foregrounds Native sovereignty, resilience, and lived histories.

"An American Experiment (Washington’s Version)" on the 5th floor links the Washington State Constitution to America’s founding documents. The original 1889 constitution is displayed during select commemorative windows, offering visitors a rare, conservation-monitored close-up.

The ego, when used correctly, is a great source of strength.
It can help us with self-confidence, help us set boundaries, and can protect our sensitive soul. It is a tool of a higher mindset when we set our intentions with love.

The ego is where the conscious mind lives.
It has the tricky job of satisfying the id's wild desires in a realistic and socially acceptable way. The id, however, is the animal part of the personality - it owns the unconscious drive, survive, and thrive mode. Learn the difference.

So, when emotionally charged situations arise, pause - ego check- ask what story you are going to tell yourself, and is the response going to make it better or worse?

We can spin it high or low…

What is good for you won't go by you…

The most powerful revelation in (and of) a healthy relationship is releasing the unfounded expectation we place on others to make us happy – because they can’t.

People come to us to bring us to a higher state of consciousness through life lessons and a new way to live and love. They come (for better or worse and because of proximity) to expose our deepest fears and crack open our hidden vulnerabilities.

They come to bring a new layer of understanding that without blame, shame, or accusation, but we are the only ones responsible for inner peace and happiness.

This is the mastery of love and the goddess of peace - and until we find this inside, embrace our humanness – no one, NO ONE, can be the equalizer.
