As I read more of my friends book, Beggars or Angels, about her intimate life experiences, I was amazed at how she overcame many barriers handling many problems at the same time. Marriages, children, being an immigrant, acquiring skills to be able to work, and avoiding people that tried to ham her physically, and health issues.
The fascinating thing is that through all of those insurmountable odds, she still succeeded. It was not a road with a clear destination, and there was not an organization or set of people protecting her. Really it was determination and desire, and yes, passion in everything that she did. Throughout all the turmoil, she never lost her growing self esteem or empathy for others. Although she was clearly upset with people and relationships there was not an ounce of vengeance or wanting retribution for those that complicated her life. This is a very inspiring book, and as I read it , I began to feel good. That’s what she still does on a very wide scale, and because she knows the fear and depression of her own personal tragedies, she can show empathy and relate to the unfortunate and poor. I am so proud to know her, and I see many life lessons in the actual chapters of her life. She never tried to be anyone other than herself, and she did not let her emotions overrule her determination. I will post more about this incredible woman, and the fact that she found a soulmate, and so there is a beautiful love story of a lifetime,

I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of Spring and staying safe. As the weather begins to change, we should all also begin to work on healthy changes we can work on in our own lives. Similar to the night of my late husband’s wedding proposal, our plans do not always go in the directions we planned. This does not change the fact that we can all make something absolutely wonderful out of it. With the COVID-19 vaccine beginning to be more available, we can start moving past and looking for a brighter tomorrow.

The Christian faith teaches that there is glory after suffering. At last I felt I understood this wisdom completely. Because after enduring so much pain, I had finally found my true love and my path. My heart sang with joy.

As we continue to work through these hard times please be sure to check up on one another and remember that there is always going to be a bright side in all the darkness. I hope that everyone is having a wonderful week! As we dive deeper into fall and colder weather, we need to be sure that we are checking up on our family, friends and neighbors. Check on them and be sure they are happy and healthy. As we come down to the last two months of 2020, take some time and reflect. Take note of the positive and negatives, and most of all - be kind to yourself.. Please have a safe and healthy Halloween weekend!

My dear friends Dario Marquez and Wendy Thompson produced the documentary Agent of Chaos on HBO. It comes out September 23rd and 24th as a two part series. I hope everyone will support and watch this! I am looking forward to watching this myself. Wendy is an amazing producer, so I cannot wait to see her talents shine through!

As we care for one another during these hard times, I hope that everyone is working hard to make smart choices. Hopefully you are all staying safe and healthy. As the weather changes and life continues, please be sure to check up on your neighbors, friends and family. It takes a village to get through the rough patches. Take the next couple of weeks for some time to reflect on the past and make plans for the future. Take some time to do what you love and be around the people who love you. Have a wonderful first week of Fall.

As we are working our way through the struggles of COVID-19, we must remember to stay strong and keep working towards our goals - no matter how big or small - be the bumblebee. With things slowing down, we can all use this time to make a plan for our future goals and figure out how best to accomplish them. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend filled with happiness and warmth. As we make our way through the week I hope that everyone is staying safe, healthy, and keeping a safe distance from one another. Be sure to remember this week to check-in and take care of our neighbors, friends, and our family. As our world continues to change every day we need to be prepared to change with it and just continue to live our lives as fully as possible.

I hope that everyone is doing well as the world is slowly beginning to reopen. It is important to remember that even through these uncertain times we need to hang onto our kindness and compassion for one another. As everything reopens, try to be compassionate and eat and shop at local, small businesses that have been hit hard by COVID. Everyone can do their part to help others prevail and continue on through this rough patch.

As the world slowly seems to be reopening, I would like for everyone to remember to be kind to one another and keep taking care of each other. We should all be mindful of each other’s space and keep our distance. As the restaurants and stores open, please be sure to continue supporting our small businesses out there who took losses during the shutdown.
