DIAGNOSIS: Burkitt's leukemia
The Doernbecher Freestyle program gives terminally Ill children full creative opportunity to create one of a kind sneakers and apparel. The partnership is comprised of OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital and Nike.
The location for the hospital can be seen by longitude & latitude coordinates shown at the end of this reel, on the insoles of these foamposites
The program was started in 2003 out of an idea from a boy named Connor, son of former Nike creative director Michael Doherty. Who thought it would be a great way to engage their imaginations and help ease their tough times. The money generated from sales of Doernbecher merchandise directly benefits the hospital
Thankfully 🙏🏾 Elijah went into full remission and went on to study science & play baseball in college 🔬⚾
