PremierGuitar interviewing John March at the 2009 NY Amp Show. He did such an amazing job showing off the advantages of the design (playing the same guitar I sent to Jeff Beck).

Dale Brown of Zion Guitar Technology made the six boutique versions of the guitar. Of those six, two are gone. The red one I sent to Jeff Beck as a thank you for being so amazing (but I never confirmed that it went any farther than his agent in London). The blue one I gave to an old friend from school who helped get these six built. (See: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=111704180744252&id=111497830764887).

Zoran Zelic, who helped me with the CAD modeling, holding the one OCG bass I had made (out of plywood to show the contours). I actually wanted basses first when it came time to get the real ones made, but unfortunately the boutique charged with doing the job made the six guitars, first, and then I ran out of money. Fender Jazz-style basses (like my Hamer Cruises) are the most familiar and successful offset-bodied instruments (probably because the aesthetics work better at the much longer scale than all of Fender's attempts at guitars --- e.g., Jaguars, Musicmasters, Mustangs, etc.), but OCG Freestyles are a whole new level of offset, so playing the bass is amazing. Can't wait to get a true boutique-built OCG bass. Soon.

A wonderful image created by someone on offsetguitars.com after I introduced mine there and faced incredible stupidity from old-school members defending Fender offsets as if they were the definitive, final answer to the general design challenge.
