While the month of October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, the 9th-15th is Baby Loss Awareness Week with specific topics each day to bring more awareness.
But this week also holds a lot of trauma for me. The whole month of October has been a dark month for me since 2013 when my mom passed away due to breast cancer. Two years ago just added to the trauma of the month for me. Last year my depression and anxiety was so bad that in August I sought professional help and was put on medication.
This year has been a whole lot better but the past few days have hit hard. It caught me off guard and I know the coming ones will be rough too.
For me the 11th is the anniversary of my mom's passing and also when we found out that Luke had no heartbeat
I was then induced on the 14th to deliver him. The first and last time I got to hold him.
All that to say that grief is weird. You never know when a rogue wave is coming to knock you down. While I thought I was doing just fine, today has hit and I'm feeling all the feelings.
