THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Thanks to everyone who came out to this weekend’s markets!! And a HUGE thank you to .sav and for welcoming me into their spaces 🙌

These were my first markets in Savannah and - not gunna lie - I was a bit nervous how everything would go. With the new branding and the VERY colorful palette that I’m using now, it felt a lil risky. But now it feels like a risk that was worth it!

I’m honestly so blown away and feel so honored that people liked my earrings (and even put them on on spot!!??!). Every time someone picked up a pair and said they’d take them, I couldn’t help but say “Really?!!!”.

All this to say that I really appreciate everyone and the support for the creative community here ❤️ I can’t wait to show you guys my next round of earrings for the October 28th market with for !! It’ll be funkier than ever!

I’ve quite literally prepared a bajillion earrings for this and other markets, so come stop by to see some newbies that I’ve been too lazy to post about! Haha!

From here on out, it’s full-on crafting season and full-steam ahead with fall and holiday markets! Which is simply the best way to transition out of summer…

Hey there, it’s been awhile!!

Sorry for being MIA! And the long post ahead...but life had just gotten in the way. I was making so many earrings that it kinda bogged me down, and I lost the fun in it. Mixed with work stress and wanting to progress in my field —- THINGS GOT STRESSFUL AF and I just couldn’t find my footing or have the will to even do a fun hobby. So to avoid that dumpster-hellfire of a feeling again, I’m coming back and making sure I make earrings I like and not just ones that I think will “sell.” This is my virtual promise to myself to only make earrings that I feel expresses myself and ones that I know I’d wear so if worse comes to worse, I have a bunch of nice earrings for myself or for everyone’s Christmas gifts 😉

So what does this all mean? Random posting here and there and most importantly — no more Etsy! I’m only selling on here and at random markets whenever I feel like it lol. I can still ship, but I want to make sure this is a hobby where I can create with *no pressure* (minus the normal perfectionist pressure I already put on myself). Checking Etsy everyday added to the stress and just making sure I even had enough packaging as backup became uber stressful and just not what I’m going for anymore.

So anywaysssss, this is one of the first earrings I made in a long while. I’ve been really into those modern rattan/rod style furniture that you see everyone DIYing, and thought “hey, that’d be a cool earring.” So here are two examples of from that “hey” thought coming to life! Just a simple Sunday doodle....
Trying to get back into the flow and better balance everything going on!
I had this design in my head right before I fell asleep last night, and I remember thinking to myself “remember this in the morning, remember this in the morning.” I can’t tell you how many times I’ve told myself to remember a design right before bed and wind forgetting it in the morning 😒 SO MANY great ideas just GONE!!
This is one I actually remembered lol. It’s not exactlyyyyy what I’m thinking for the clay earrings, but wanted to get the gist of it down before ya know...I forget like always 🙄 kinda a cool sixties vibe goin on. I like the spots of color and I am a COMPLETE sucker for line work!! I’ll try and post practice shots if I end up making this this week!!

Simple Sixties (S)ircles
Okay so these aren’t actually “new,” they were made a couple weeks ago 😶 THAT’S how bad I am at posting updates and new earrings. I mean I still have LOADS of other “new” earrings to post, but I’m just horrible with keeping up with pictures!
Things have definitely picked up at work and I’m finding that I don’t have time/energy to do creative things like make earrings (hence the MIA). BUT I have gotten back into having my nose in a book that doesn’t deal with the research I have to do for work! I’m almost done with “Once and Future Witches” - it’s good but kinda predictable a bit. I’ve just missed diving into sci-fi, fantastical stories where my mind can wander along with the story line. Idk if anyone remembers the series “A Great and Terrible Beauty,” but that was my jam and this new book sends me back to those days.
Anywhoooo, I’d love to hear if you guys have book suggestions!! Next on my list is “Midnight Library,” “The Vanishing Half,” and “The Woman in the Window” 👀

I know we’re all holding our breath until the impeachment decision is made. But just because one demagogue is out, doesn’t mean the fight is over. The racist, xenophobic web he has nurtured and spun needs to be broken and erased. We may think many or all are explicit in supporting him and his “values”, but there are elusive, implicit networks (and unjust systems) in place that still need to be identified and dismantled.
Either way, they are bound to lose.

On a day like today it’s good to remember that 🗣ALL YOU N***S ARE BOUND TO LOSE

Starting something NEW!
A long, leather and clay scalloped necklace ✨Told you I have some new exciting things for MIRO this year 😁.
I have another necklace I made over the weekend that I’m excited to share with you all soon! It may feature one of your favorite (more recent) patterns 😉. I also hope to incorporate other funky designs (but that requires some hardware I do not have), so I’ll be experimenting more with shapes and forms - this is just one of many NECKLACES to come! Wohooo for new things and expanding creativity!

Reposting these because ✨✨BETTER LIGHTING ✨✨
Sometimes I just get too excited about making new earrings and wind up posting horrible pictures from 8PM when there is absolutely no natural lighting and only warm lamp lights from my dining room 🙃. Then I think, I’ll just edit the photo to make them brighter, and then they have really high, ugly exposure and look really grainy and UGH just a mess. BUT STILL (because I’m all excited), I think “I’m gunna post this anyways!” . WHY do I do this?? I just wind up going back and taking news pics LITERALLY the next morning...(as you can tell).
So here you are with a BETTER photo (with beautiful, morning light) and now you can actually see it really is a blush pink and not a washed out/muddled white lol.
Also, going to make different color combos with these! My mom suggested the Pantone colors of the year (gray and yellow), and I’m also thinking of blue and green (like the Calder’s). Or maybe something crazy like half blue, half red, half yellow, half green — IDKK! We’ll see!! Coffee is definitely kicking in now 😂

Here are some experimental earrings!
I’ve been really (and oddly) into the pairing of red and pink. I’m not that big of a fan of pink, but something about the two colors together seems right.
What are your thoughts on these? I might try different color combos, but as digging this blush pink and red —- a good earring for Valentine/Galentine’s Day? 🤔
