Dianna & Michael of Hummingbird Home are a wonderful addition to Main St. Mercantile & CO. It’s been almost a year now!!!

They have some special things to share with you when we reopen after the renovation & we will welcome fall!!!

What am I doing posting a picture of meatballs!!

I noticed we have some new followers lately (thank you!)

I am so happy that you are following our page and I thought I would introduce myself!

I am Dianna, the founder of Hummingbird Home (along with the builder of all special pieces, my husband Michael)

I have always had a love for cozy, welcoming spaces, collected pieces with a story, entertaining, and cooking (I even went to culinary school because I am obsessed with cooking!)
We have been in business since 2018. 😊
We started out doing some small markets with furniture and home decor. We had our own storefront for a few years, but now are located in a creative collective marketplace called Main St. Mercantile & CO. In my hometown of Richmond.

The name Hummingbird Home was inspired from watching my mom outside of our bay window when I was a little girl feeding and nurturing the hummingbirds that came every spring. Hummingbirds give me that cozy feeling of home.

So that brings me to the “meatballs”.
My mom was kind of famous for her meatballs and it was my favorite dinner as a child. I love making them for my own family and telling the stories that go along with it. There is so much more to a home and all of the pretty pieces we put in it, home is about the people and memories that make us who we are.

I hope as you visit our little shop at the Mercantile, we can evoke some memories from your past and help you make new memories too!

Now, I need to go finish making the meatballs!

Howdy from the Main St. Mercantile & CO.. I'm feeling blessed to be working today until 6. I've met so many amazing people and finished my Betsy Ross flag blanket. There's still time to stop by and share in the joy. We are open Saturday 10-4 and Sunday 11-4 have a truly uplifting weekend 😀

Up next is Patty! She is the owner of BowerBird!

We were blessed to have a friend of ours inquire about space for her Aunt Patty & within 2 weeks she was part of the Merc Family! Her first days in the shop were during our "Holiday Vintage Road Trip" Talk about jumping in! She did it FLAWLESSLY! We absolutely adore her & feel so blessed she's here.
I'll let Patty introduce herself!

"As a young girl, I would accompany my mother to weekend jaunts to flea markets, thrift stores and garage sales. Later, on my own, the love for thrifting grew. I’ve worked estate sales for over 24 years ,and you’ll find me at local sales to this day. This work helped cement my love for found treasures.
After retiring from a career in healthcare, my husband and I opened a
coffee shop on Harsens Island. Naturally, it wasn’t long before I opened a consignment shop in the backroom.
Shortly after selling the coffee shop, I realized I missed the thrill of the hunt. I needed
an outlet for my passion. Enter the Main Street Mercantile.
A visitor to my “cottage,” will quickly pick up on my passion for vintage gardening items, dish ware and vintage Christmas decor.
Just as the BowerBird gathers bright and shiny objects to feather her nest, visit Patty’s BowerBird Cottage to find the perfect shiny object for your home."

Patty is also our window designer for the large front window this month! YES that stunning wrought iron furniture & everything else in the window IS for SALE!

Time to meet your next "Face Behind the Brand" and she is at the store working TODAY!!!

Leanne of Leanne Elizabeth Studio is an artist and maker all in one! We were lucky to have her join us almost 2 years ago & can't imagine anyone else in her space!

Enough of me.... I'll let her introduce herself!

Hi, I’m Leanne of Leanne Elizabeth Studio.

Everything in my booth is made by hand by me! I’ve been a lifelong crafter and artist since I was a kid. I’ve just always enjoyed art and crafting is very therapeutic and I recommend everyone try a craft hobby!

My illustration artwork has been full of lifelong practice drawing with traditional media (pencil, pens, and markers). I didn’t start making polymer clay products (primarily earrings) until a few years ago. I wanted to try a new craft and I’ve always loved earrings but hated the weight they put on my ears. So I gave polymer clay earrings a try for myself since they were practically weightless! Long story short friends and family started to want some, encouragement to do artisan and farmers markets, and that’s how I ended up at Main St. Mercantile after being a vendor at the Richmond Market and Melissa convinced me to become a store vendor. I’ve been at the Merc for two years now and love it!
