1979’s Pulitzer Prize Winning romantic comedy, Talley’s Folly is coming to The Bookend!

The play follows Matt as he arrives uninvited at the boathouse to win over Sally after an intense brief romance the previous summer. Sally initially rebuffs him, burdened by deep personal insecurities, a physical ailment from her past, and the certainty that her prejudiced family will never accept a Jewish immigrant. Undeterred, Matt uses humor, honesty, and the sharing of his own deepest secrets to break down her defenses, ultimately awakening them both to a shared future.

A steady hand behind the bar. Absolutely no self-control in the book section. 🍸📚

Come for a cocktail, browse a little, leave with the book you were “just looking at.” We’ve seen how this ends, and we fully support it.
