The Clothes Rack

The Clothes Rack Thrift store supporting the Junior League of Richmond for over 70 years! Opened in 1948, in a 100 year old building at 104 W. Cary St.

Grace St., The Clothes Rack was started as a consignment store to raise money for a welfare fund that supported the Junior League of Richmond's speech clinic aiding speech impaired children in the city. In 1975, The Clothes Rack moved into its current location at 2618 W. Cary St., replacing the old Safeway store. In September of 2005, The Clothes Rack opens up a second location at Stratford Hills

and the Junior League of Richmond became the only League out of the 291 in four countries to operate two stores. In August of 2021, The Clothes Rack at Stratford Hills was closed. On July 25, 2020, the Junior League of Richmond debuts The Rolling Rack, a mobile boutique. The Rolling Rack hosts "pop-up shops" for both the League's community partners and the public. Currently, The Clothes Rack is located at 2618 W. and is still going strong after 70 years!
