We had a wonderful start to the day hosting Theocles and the Muses for a full-band rehearsal. They’ll be performing tomorrow as the headliners for the Rivanna Roots Riverside Concert Series in Charlottesville. Their audience is in for a treat!

What a morning at Sound Hall Studios.

Jazz pianist Cyrus Chestnut joined us today as part of a Masterclass series presented by The Jazz Academy of Richmond and left the room with this gem:

We are beyond excited to share this last minute announcement with our community. 🎹

Tomorrow — Saturday August 29th from 12 to 1 PM — Sound Hall Studios will be hosting a very special masterclass with world class jazz pianist Cyrus Chestnut presented by our friends at the The Jazz Academy of Richmond.

This is a once in a while opportunity to sit in the same room as one of today's leading voices in jazz and learn directly from him. The masterclass covers improvisation, performance practices, musical expression, career development, and closes with an interactive Q&A session.

Admission is $20 per person and attendance is limited. Register immediately at jazzacademyrva.org/events before it sells out.

It's official....🥁🥁🥁
Sound Hall Studios has purchased two new PA Systems to be used in our larger full band rehearsal studios.

Our set ups are Harbinger M200-BT Portable PA Systems each with 4 channel inputs to bring in vocals and keyboard during rehearsals. If you need to secure a PA System for your booking, just ask.

We are just hearing the news and our hearts are heavy.

Dolly Parton was more than a legend. She was proof that music has the power to heal, to unite, and to reach into the deepest parts of a person and make them feel seen. The world was immeasurably better with her in it and the music she left behind will carry her spirit forward long after today.

Thank you for everything Dolly. What a gift you were. 🕊️

The first ever Sound Hall Studios Musicians Block Party is officially in the books and okay WOW. 🎸🥁🎹🎺🎻

Last night our studios were taken over by about 50 of the most diverse and passionate musicians and we could not have been more excited to see it all unfold. Mini jam sessions popping off everywhere you turned. Different instruments. Different styles. Different backgrounds. All coming together under one roof for one incredible night of music and community.

This is exactly what Sound Hall Studios was built for and last night proved it in the best possible way.

Thank you to everyone who came out and filled our space with music. You are what this community is all about.
