From kindergarten to college and every year in between, the first day of school brings a nervous excitement (and sometimes dread) for what’s to come. For us, the best things about the big day are the crisp sheets of paper in a new notebook… the point of a freshly sharpened pencil… the chance to learn, grow, and connect with friends, old and new.

May this be the start of something magical for all students, educators, and caretakers… and ALL who celebrate the day (and the season) with some sensational new stationery.

Over the last few weeks, community has taken many forms for us, having us us feeling AAAAALLLLLLL the feels.

To keep us collectively informed on a project impacting many of us in town, a dear neighbor started a group text that has united our homes in ways unexpected and absolutely delightful.

To help us feel less tied to our devices and more attuned to our natural desire to connect through the written word, Hey June became an official Letter Keeper of the sundayletterproject and pen pal letters from around the world have been filling our PO Box, our in-shop letter basket, and our souls.

To honor the life and legacy of a local young person we lost too soon, we joined friends and neighbors at a benefit concert at our beloved Cochran's Ski Area featuring the Adam Ezra Group and we kept the magic flowing in the shop today playing their tunes for . Didn’t get a chance to attend the show? Worry not, you can still support Team Soren with a donation (link in bio!)

To celebrate the 5th annual Stationery Store Day! today, we welcomed SO. MANY. FRIENDS. — old and new — giving away treats throughout the day and bonding over our shared love of all things paper.

We are so lucky to live where we live, to do what we do, and to have the privilege to share it all with you.

When we landed a sweet gig at Rolling Stone magazine two weeks after graduating college, we thought life couldn’t get any better. Nearly 30 years later, we have the honor of playing DJ at our REAL dream job here at Hey June.

When we started playing ’s new album, The Great Divide, last week, we thought we’d play it through once and switch things up after that, but then a funny thing happened: We started to notice everyone that came into the shop would start singing along, first to the radio singles, but then to the lesser known tracks. Visitors started talking to us about their favorite songs on this and past albums, then asking if we’d seen his documentary (of course!) and sharing their own experiences with life, love, loss and mental health. The sense of Vermont pride was palpable, but the connection to Noah and his music went far beyond geography and straight to the heart of what it means to be alive. We ended up playing the album on repeat for the whole day and have been doing so on the regular.

Seeing Noah on the cover of the latest issue of RS brought things full circle for us this week. We couldn’t be more grateful for the gifts he shares with us or more proud of our local hero.

As parents, the respect, admiration, and awe we have for educators is immeasurable. 📐

Teachers, coaches, and administrators instill knowledge, but also the life skills that inspire and enable our kids to be the best humans they can be.

The connections shared with the educators our kid has had the privilege to share a classroom with run deep and endure as the grades seem to keep flying by. It’s not uncommon for us to find ourselves dropping a quick note or pic to a teacher our son had several years ago, because we came across something that made us think of her.

We are so grateful to each and everyone one of them and join you in celebrating them a little extra this week! 📓 ✏️ ♥️

Join us THIS THURSDAY 4/9 from 3-5pm for a special Personalization event featuring our very favorite: !

Every once in a while, one of you comes in looking for a specific color or style or Leuchtturm journal that we don’t have at the moment and we ALWAYS say, “You can order it directly from them and if you do that, you can have them emboss@your name or initials on the cover!”

WELL, we are THRILLED to welcome Joe Granat and his amazing embossing machine to Hey June so you can have the best of both worlds: shop local AND put a little personal touch on it!

Buy a new journal — OR bring in your recently purchased notebook — this Thursday from 3-5pm and Joe will make your cover sparkle ✨

Can’t wait to see you!
