✨✨So I wanted to do an artist spotlight and start showing off some of the CRAZY talented artists we feature in store. If you've spoken to us about any of them, we are probably their biggest fans. How many times have I said "OMG I just love them". We wanted you all to get a chance to know the fun and quirky characters that make up the family! So I HAD to pester my dear friend Nicola to kick things off, and what a good sport!✨✨

🏠 Are you originally from the Richmond area?
No, I was born in London, England, but spent most of my childhood in West Virginia. I moved to Richmond in 2017.
🖌️How long have you been an artist?
My whole life
🎨Do you have a background in art or did you just start as a hobby?
I have a bachelor's degree in art education and was a middle school art teacher for two years. I struggled to call myself an artist for a long time because I was taught to know everything, but never to master anything. I've been a ceramic artist for 3 years.
🦝What inspired you to create your style? What continues to get the creative juices flowing?
My first job was at a zoo, so I take a lot of inspiration from animals, especially those that need extra love.
🏭What are some fun facts about you?
My favorite animal is a jellyfish. I listen to true crime podcasts and watch reality TV while working in my studio. My favorite fast food is a Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich. I love magic shows.
