They’re heeeerree, Flower Friends!! Important PSA!: this plant, known by many names (Honeyvine, Milkw**d Vine, what do you call it?), and often considered a w**d - it will grow up other plants, fences, railings etc (and is LOVED by many native pollinators and insects) - is in fact a HOST plant for Monarch butterflies!!

That’s right!! That mean it is one of a handful of plants that Monarch caterpillars can eat. So, before you remove it, please check to be sure there are not eggs or caterpillars on it! And please leave some growing somewhere in your yard / spaces (and DO NOT SPRAY), so that Monarchs have a greater selection of host plants for their babies. ❤️🐛❤️ The flowers do smell sweet 🥰

I am overjoyed to see that the eggs a visiting Monarch deposited about a week ago are now thriving caterpillars…!

Please send protective energy, so that they may survive to make more babies and keep the population thriving ❤️✨🙏🌿🐛🌀

Hello Flower Friends! Petal Palate will be returning to the lakesidefarmersmarketrva Lakeside Farmer's Market this coming Saturday morning, 9am-12pm (ish).

There will be floral teas and herbal vinegars, floral fire c***r, and Flower Essences on offer. All you need to make unique and delicious mocktails / cocktails and beneficial beverages at home.

Come on out and try a sample, and bring your herbal questions! I am a clinical herbalist and just love to nerd out with people about plants (and edible flowers, of course!), and the many ways they can support us on our health and culinary journeys. ❤️🌿🌸

April is almost here, Flower Friends! This year’s early spring vinegar is steeping for its unveiling at the Richmond Ren Faire! Violets, violas, red bud flowers, and a little nettle to spice up your spring and summer salads!

Flower tea and Floral Fire c***r will also be available at the Ren Faire - as well as information and sign up for Clinical Herbal consultations with yours truly!

Come to the Herbalists & Healers Guild tent at the Ren Faire April 18-19 for demos to get you started making your own infusions, to understand the ancient art of distillation, and to learn about oxymels and tinctures.
