Two years ago, 72-year-old Walter Hausermann and his wife decided to start The Beat Goes on VT, a nonprofit that refurbishes drum sets and gives them away.

Community of Sound, a music school in Burlington, VT, was happy to add a drum kit to their variety of instruments!

Lou Izzo has a rich history of making music in Vermont!
He, his wife, and his children are all musically gifted, and have encouraged each other’s talent over several decades!
A freelancer, Lou was playing with a variety of musicians, from grange halls, to weddings, to lounges, it sounds like he was never at a loss for opportunities to play!
He donated his kit, after years of being stored in a basement, and Walter was able to restore it to playing condition!
Lou stopped by to see it and give a few taps one last time💕
