We take pride in sourcing and processing our own animals and specimens. Our items are ethically obtained to the best of our abilities, however we cannot vouch for vintage pieces. We dermestid beetle clean and whiten our own skulls and bones. We take custom orders and requests as well. For any bone cleaning or animal preservation needs, please feel free to contact us. Our items are not limited to what we have available online. Local customers are welcome to stop by the shop during business hours. As much as we would like to be on top of the questions and inquiries we get through Facebook, it isn't exactly the easiest way to get a hold of us! Please, if you have any questions call us at (804) 353-0919. If you prefer to reach out to us online, email us at [email protected] or through the website and utilize our contact tab! We really don't mean to be rude, but Instagram and Facebook can be overwhelming with notifications.

Thanks to everyone who made it out to tonight’s Giant Asian Stick Insect, Tirachoidea westwoodi! These are such unique insects and it was so much fun to get hands on with them.

We learned that stick insects hold the record for the longest mating time, with a species in India clocking an astonishing 79 days 😳

Next up is Death’s Head Hawkmoths (sold out) & Monarchs in November (still a few seats left)

Living room feeling a little empty?? Looking for just the right statement piece?? Meet Camille, the house Ostrich! Camille is a vintage, full body Ostrich that lived in an antique dealers home for over 50 years, until she decided to downsize. We promised when we picked her up that we would keep her name and tiara! She’s is great shape for her age and surprisingly easy to maneuver.

Camille is currently living at Justin’s house because we don’t have any room for her at the store right now! She can be delivered for a small fee. 6k takes her home - 30 & 60 day payment plans available!

OPEN 11-6 / Happy Fall!

Ever wanted to learn the art of insect pinning? Take an entomology class at RIP! These hands on classes are perfect for beginners and offer a vast array of knowledge on the subject.

We still have 9 seats available for this upcoming Sunday’s (9/27) class on the giant walking stick! Let’s fill those seats up! This is a very cool insect and a great opportunity as we don’t get these in very often.
