She founded a non profit called Empowering after-school courses | Amsterdam & Rotterdam that just turned 7 last weekend where she helps young girls gain confidence in themselves through sports.

We had our first 80 degree day this week and the whole team stopped work early and went out for a ride together to celebrate the onset of summer!

Pretty quickly into the ride, though, everyone was expressing how this felt way harder than we were used to, and the many water bottles that everyone brought were empty by the half way point (some consumed, some poured over our heads for cooling purposes).

We couldn’t let go of the question, why did this relatively easy ride feel so hard? So, we spoke with an expert, , who explained why working out in the heat feels so much harder.

Turns out, when it’s hot out our bodies are doing two jobs at once, powering our muscles and keeping us cool by sweating.

The solution is to stay on top of your hydration (before and during the workout), drink cold water, and drink electrolytes!
