For the past three years, Carytown Teas has had a satellite home inside APOTHEC at 320 Libbie Avenue and now, we’re incredibly excited to share that 320 is becoming their full-time home! 🫖

CaryTown Teas will be transitioning from their original Carytown location and bringing their full operation under one roof with us at 320 Libbie Avenue.

Prickly pear has been cultivated in Mexico for thousands of years, where it was an important source of food, medicine, and natural dyes for Indigenous cultures. Rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, essential fatty acids, and minerals, it’s still celebrated today for helping support hydrated, healthy skin and protecting it from everyday environmental stress.

Over time, prickly pear has come to symbolize resilience and abundance. Its thorn-covered cactus produces vibrant, nourishing fruit, reminding us that strength and beauty can flourish even in the harshest conditions. It’s a plant with a long history of endurance, renewal, and caring for both people and the land. 🌵

Founded in Paris in 1827 by François-Étienne Violet, eventually becoming one of France’s celebrated perfume houses and an official supplier to Empress Eugénie and Queen Isabella II of Spain. The house later disappeared, only to be rediscovered and revived in 2017 by three young perfumers determined to bring its archives into a new era.

Compliment feels like a piece of that history made luminous again, a generous bouquet of white flowers, sweet, radiant, and almost perpetually summery. Maison Violet describes it as a fragrance made to carry the feeling of summer throughout the year.

Honeysuckle has been valued for centuries for both its fragrance and its practical uses. Native to parts of Europe, Asia, and North America, it has long been planted around homes and gardens, where many believed it could bring good fortune and offer protection. Its vigorous climbing habit and prolific summer blooms made it a familiar feature of cottage gardens, while its nectar-filled flowers have delighted generations of children who would gently sip their natural sweetness.

In China, honeysuckle has been an important medicinal plant for more than a thousand years and is traditionally used to support the body during times of heat and seasonal illness. Its sweet aroma and abundant blossoms have also made it a favorite ingredient in perfumes, teas, and botanical gardens around the world. Join us for a day devoted to the art of tea with two immersive experiences led by tea professional Andrea Post of .teas

Begin with The Tea on Tea, a guided tasting exploring the history, traditions, preparation through the use of Gongfu and remarkable diversity of tea. Then, return for our Tea Blending Workshop, where you’ll discover the qualities and benefits of different teas and botanicals before creating a custom blend to take home.

Whether you’re beginning your tea journey or deepening an existing practice, these classes invite you to slow down, sip intentionally, and experience tea in a whole new way.
