Swing by Oblivion Cinema & Arts today, Wednesday, August 19, 2026 from 10:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M. to check out our shop, studio, and gallery, currently featuring Joe Swanson’s newest solo show, SILVER SUFFER. This body of work will remain on display through the end of August; visitation is free and open to the public, and original works and zines are available for purchase.

Looking to make your own mark? We’re back for our free, weekly B.Y.O. Supplies Sketch Club from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. this afternoon! Bring your tools of choice and settle in with your project amongst creative community.

Looking to brush up on your painting skills? Looking to try a new medium? Simply wanting to gather and meet new people? Join us this Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. and explore your creative side at this week’s Oil Painting with Bennett Ritchie workshop! Gather with us for this all ages, beginner friendly, walk-in friendly session and tap into the world of oil painting at this two hour, guided session. This workshop is priced at $35 per patron and includes all materials and instruction. We hope to see you there!

We’re open! Stop by 414 North 10th Street, Richmond, IN, 47374 to visit Oblivion Cinema & Arts this week! We’ll be open for our standard shop, studio, and space operations Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M.; swipe through this post to see our workshop listings for the days ahead!

We’ll kick off our lineup this week with our Y’Alternative Textiles workshop tonight, Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 6:00 P.M.—no registration is required to attend this walk-in workshop.

Whether you’re looking to browse our curation or art supplies and local art, gather in our free communal workspace, or are wanting to connect and create at a workshop, we can’t wait to see you in our studio this week!

Looking toward the week ahead, we have a smattering of workshop offerings to offer! Join us on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 6:00 P.M. for our walk-in Y’alternative Textiles workshop; learn bleach painting techniques for creating your own wearable bandana.

We’ll gather on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 from 4-6:00 P.M. for our free, weekly BYO Supplies Sketch Club. Break out your tools of choice and join us for some intentional community time!

Saturday, August 22, 2026 will see the return of our biweekly Free, Free-Form Collage Potluck (12:30 P.M. - 2:30 P.M.) and Oil Painting with Bennett Ritchie (3:09 P.M. - 5:00 P.M.) sessions!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Oblivion Cinema & Arts for yesterday’s Linocut Flash Art Cafe! Check out this reel to see a few capturing of the day’s crafty endeavors.

We’ll be taking a brief intermission to reset and refresh Sunday and Monday before reopening on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 10:00 A.M.! This weekend will see the first session of our new Art Cafe series at Oblivion Cinema & Arts! Join tomorrow, Saturday, August 15, 2026 from 11:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M. for a drop-in friendly day of printmaking. Select a design from our studio-made flash sheets and carve a linocut block at your own pace with the assistance of our studio crew. No registration or reservations are required. Designs are priced as marked, ranging from $5 -$20 each; each carving includes up to 10 print pulls in house. This activity requires no prior experience and is recommended for ages 12 and up. Stop in to make a small stamp or settle in to a day of crafting—the choice is yours!

In light of the recent storms, we have created a special sheet of designs for tomorrow’s session; all net proceeds from these designs will be donated to storm relief efforts in Wayne County. We thank our community for the support that they have lent to one another, and our hearts go out to those affected by the devastating damage caused by these storms. We are currently looking into additional ways to use our means and abilities to support our area and ongoing organizing efforts.

Oblivion Cinema & Arts will be open for standard shop, studio, and space operations today from 10:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M.; whether you’re looking to rest, create, or connect, our studio is open to you. Our work tables, WiFi, and space amenities are, as always, open and free of charge to gather in and use. No workshops will be held today, but we’ll be hosting our scheduled Linocut Flash Art Cafe tomorrow, August 15, 2026 from 11:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M.; we will be releasing our full flash sheets, including special designs for raising donations for those impacted by the recent storms, later today.

We hope that you are safe, and we hope to see you soon, as you wish, as you can.
