We are closing the store front at the end of October. Idaho Fishing Outfitters will be online retail only after that. We will have a new store front open up in Butte MT under a new name. Stop by and stock up on what you need or have had your eye on. Hope to see everyone again before the doors are closed.

Hopper fishing has kicked off and is going really well. People have been boating a lot of fish. Try a smaller tan or pink hopper. The PMD fishing has not been very good all year, but keep your eyes open for fish feeding in the riffles. You could end up at the right spot at the right time. Also been hearing some rumors of mutants.

The river has been fishing well from Ashton up. Water temps are getting g high in the St. Anthony area, and the weeds are getting thick. There are still some golden stones hanging around just under I.P. Reservoir and it has been seeing some gray drake action. Some honey ants by the ranch, and hopper fishing on anything below that.

We have over 1,000 fly patters in the shop. Updating and adding regularly. Stop by and check it out. We are here to help...

It is time to bust out the hopper dropper rigs. Morning and evening have been fishing great. Fish are moving more into the riffles in the afternoon eating PMD,s and big caddis hatches just before dark. Golden stones have been hanging around as well. Throw a golden colored chubby and drop a bullet 3-4 feet under that.

Get up early or stay out late. Fishing has been good but there is a lull in the heat of the day. A dry dropper has been fishing well and the bugs are thick. PMD,s golden stones, BWO's, and hoppers are all on the water. Pick a good foam indicator fly and drop a size 18 bullet quill about a foot under it and pound the banks.

Fishing is good early in the morning and late in the day. Hot temps and an abundance of food have made a mid day lull. Salmonflies are going in big numbers on the upper sections. There has also been a good number of yellow sallies on the lower sections. Nymphing is working all day, try a rubber leg or a bullet to get down and fish the soft holding seams.

Fishing has been good. Caddis are hatching in huge numbers as expected. There are plenty of brown drakes flying around and a rusty spinner has been fishing really well in the evening. Pmds are having some good hatches as well. With so many bugs on the water stay adaptable and read the river.
