Every year, people see the potatoes...but these are the real 🥔 champions. 🏆

It takes a whole crew to keep this operation cooking and after 17 years, we’ve grown because of one truly Spud-tacular Team. From setting up, wrapping/roasting potatoes, taking orders, slicing/buttering, loading toppings, cutting corn, bagging sour cream, slicing fruit, making cakes, refilling butter, grabbing last-minute supplies (and rescuing me when I inevitably forget something 😅) everyone plays a part.

No one gets left in the dirt around here. Every job matters and every person makes this crazy, wonderful adventure possible.

I’m beyond grateful for every single person who gives their time, energy and love. There’s a special place in my heart for the people who willingly jump into this beautiful madness, year after year. 🥔🤎

Every single day at the fair, one of the questions we get asked the most is, “How many potatoes do you sell?”

The truth is...I honestly don’t know! 😂 I know about how many cases of potatoes we go through each day, but my brain is usually focused on three things:
🥔 The weather forecast
🥔 Making sure we have every supply we need
🥔 Making sure the Spud Staff is scheduled and ready to roll

The total number we sell each year really depends on the weather and Fair attendance. This year was actually on track to have record 🥔 sales but we had one night of bad weather. Even so, we had a record-breaking day on Saturday, serving 20 cases of potatoes ~ that’s about 850 potatoes in one day! Just to cook that amount pretty much maxes out the roaster's capacity! 🤯

As fun as those numbers are, I don’t really relax enough to appreciate them until the Fair is over. My biggest goal has always been making sure every customer gets the best product and service possible. I know the line is long and I truly appreciate every single one of you who patiently waits and comes back year after year. We’re hustling as fast as we can because every potato is made to order and my biggest concern is making sure everyone gets exactly what they ordered.

This year, nearly half of our crew was new and we found a new workflow that worked even better than years past! 🙌 I’m so grateful for every new member of the Tater Team who jumped right in and am incredibly thankful for our original crew who continue to be absolutely spudtacular! 🥰 Even with fewer staff on most days, we kept things moving at the same pace ~ serving well over 2 custom potatoes every minute! 🥔⚡

To all of our potato patrons, THANK YOU!!! Your support, patience and loyalty mean more than you know! We truly have the best fans!
