📣Riverside post office updates📣

An increase in requests have come from the community on two post office locations so we have made our voice heard to get these needs taken care of. The post office facility on Sunnyside Drive is owned by a private owner and leased by the federal government. To reopen this post office location, insurance claims had to be completed, construction plans submitted to the City and then to the federal government. The City has completed its role of plan review and now the plans are with the federal government. Construction will begin as soon as the owner, insurance company, contractor, and federal government complete their necessary processes. My team has a bi-weekly call with the owner to check on progress.

The post office facility at Tyler and Hole Avenue is owned by the federal government and has ongoing challenges related to maintenance. The landscaping was recently cleaned up with interior and exterior painting still to come. Councilmember Perry has been instrumental in maintaining regular contact with the managers of this facility—and we will keep up the pressure.

Riverside Public Library is happy to announce that effective January 18, 2023, all 8 Riverside City Libraries will no longer charge any overdue fines or fees. Library customers will still be responsible for lost or damaged items. The library is excited to follow the practice of many libraries across the nation by removing this barrier to ensure accessible and equitable library service. 📚😊

Here is Little Miss Donnet, a Nancy Ann Storybook Doll. She is in unplayed with condition, in her original box with her original wrist tag still on. Included in the box is the original promotional brochure that came with all the dolls, showcasing a photo of Doll Creator Nancy Ann Abbott, who started her doll making concern in San Francisco, California in 1936. Miss Donnet is 5 and 1/2 inches tall, made of painted bisque, with jointed arms and "frozen" legs, meaning they are attached to her body and don't move. She has a beautifully marcelled, below the shoulder mohair wig with a side part in a lovely shade of Auburn, which compliments her beautiful multicolored taffeta gown and fushia felt bonnet. These dolls were produced from 1936 to 1948, so she is older than I am! Her face painting is very sweet and charming. Her original red and white polka dot box has some wear and light outer damage, along with the intact original silver foil stock label, which states "Little Miss Donnet, She Wore a Big Bonnet. 163". There were a wide variety of Storybook dolls made, with different colored hair and outfits, so she is one of several Miss Donnets. (I think the cutest!). $45.00. If you are local I can meet you for delivery, or will ship it, via USPS. Shipping cost will be added to your price. She is a real charmer and would make a good addition to any collection, or would make a nice gift for a daughter or granddaughter. Please send me a personal message here on Facebook to purchase.
