🌿✨ From Forest Floor to Finishing Salt Magic ✨🌿
Ramps are one of our favorite spring delicacies. We toss them into all kinds of dishes and absolutely must make a big ol’ batch of ramp salt to carry us through the year.
Normally, I’d throw some ramps in the dehydrator on the porch (pro tip: don’t dehydrate ramps indoors unless you want your whole house smelling loud 😅).
This year, after learning about the magic of freeze drying, I decided to seriously up my ramp game.
Of course I reached out to local flavor wizard Big Daddy’s Munchies! He’s known for turning candy and fresh foods into shelf-stable crunchy goodness through freeze drying. Their small-batch creations and local market presence have made them a favorite around the Roanoke Valley.
