Day 9 of 10 Years

This is hands down my most popular spoon ring pattern! And here's the age-old question... polished or antiqued?

Same exact pattern-the left is polished and the right has an antique finish. Crazy how much the finish changes the whole look!

Which one do Y'all like best?

And yes, I've still got a few of these patterns on hand if you'd like one made!

Day 7 of 10 Years

Here’s an old one from 2018! I made this arrowhead from a 1 oz fine silver coin that was made to look like the old Indian Head gold pieces.

All of those notches around the edge were hand filed one at a time to give it that arrowhead look. Definitely one I had forgotten about! Pretty neat looking back at some of the different stuff I’ve made over the years.

Day 6 of 10 Years - Black Onyx

Black Onyx-it's not just a black stone. Often called the "stone of inner strength," it has a clean, classic look that's hard to beat.

Here's just a mix of some of the Black Onyx pieces I've made over the last 10 years. I haven't posted any for Y'all to pick over in a long time, but I'm gonna try and post some this evening!

Black and silver just never goes out of style. And if you see one here you like I can definitely remake it for you!

Alright Y’all! I’ve made a few Jasper pieces over the years, but I’ve never posted a whole group like this!

Numbers 1–3 are Owyhee Jasper, and the rest are Polychrome Jasper. All of the Polychrome stones are matching pairs, so they’d make some pretty neat earrings—but I can definitely split a pair if you’d rather have one made into a ring or pendant.

I’ll post a numbered picture in the comments. If you’ve got your eye on a matching pair, better grab them before somebody splits them up! Can’t wait to see what Y’all want made with these!

Day 5 - From Coin to Ring

Here’s a little throwback video from 2018 showing a quick look at how I turned an 1830 Capped Bust Half Dollar into a coin ring!

This coin was minted 196 years ago, and instead of its story ending in somebody’s coin collection, it was turned into something that could still be worn and enjoyed.

Punching the center, slowly working it into shape, and watching the details move from the face of the coin to the inside and outside of the ring. A lot has changed in the shop since this video, but watching an old coin become a ring never gets old!

Some more of those Plume Agates I posted a while back are finished up! Looking like clouds rolling through a Carolina blue sky! I still have a few more of these stones available if you've been thinking about a ring, pendant, or a cuff!

Day 4 – My Favorite

My favorite coin ring, hands down, is the Morgan Silver Dollar Coin Ring. It’s a thick, heavy ring, but it sure makes a statement.

No two are ever exactly the same, but I strive to make the best one possible, and it all starts with a brilliant uncirculated coin. Over the years, I’ve made them with a light patina, dark patina, and enameled in about every color you can think of, but I always come back to that high-polished finish. Nothing beats shiny silver!

Here are some of my favorite pictures I’ve taken over the past 10 years, along with a few customers have sent me over the years.

I don’t make as many of them as I used to, but when I do get the opportunity, it really takes me back to my roots and the ring that started all of this.
Happy Tuesday, Y’all!

Day 3 of looking back over 10 years!

Since we've been on a theme of "firsts," I figured it was only right to share the first turquoise rings I ever made back in 2019!

I was extremely hesitant to try this kind of work because it required a completely different set of tools-and soldering. Being raised on a farm, I've welded my fair share of steel and brazed with a torch, but this was a whole different animal. Too much heat for too long and you've got a puddle of silver and get to start all over!

But all you ladies who pushed me to start making spoon rings kept encouraging me to at least give it a try. So I did, and I'll forever be grateful!

It's been an amazing journey learning and making this style of jewelry, and it's pretty neat looking back at where it all started.

Hope everyone is having an awesome Sunday! Wanted to share a few recent pieces we’ve finished up lately!
We have some amazing half-dollar coin rings, a Morgan silver-dollar coin ring—which is still my favorite coin ring—a double gemstone ring with a hammered band, and three crosses.
The crosses have a pretty special story behind them. A lady’s grandchildren were recently saved and baptized, and she wanted them to have crosses like the one their grandpa had. She sent me a picture of his, and I recreated the design for her.
Pretty neat getting to make pieces like these that mean so much more than just jewelry.

Day 2-the first spoon ring.

I never really planned on making spoon rings, but people kept asking me about them. Truthfully, I was nervous to try one. It was completely different from making coin rings, required more tools, and I wasn't sure it was even going to work out.

Then I came across this spoon with my daughter Mattie's name on it and figured it was the perfect one to try. With a little prayer, a whole lot of trust, and probably more nerves than I'd admit, I made my first spoon ring for my wife.

That first one opened the door to something I never expected, and spoon jewelry has been a big part of what I do ever since.

If I've ever made a spoon ring for you drop a comment or a picture in the comments!
