A little background here as we get closer to opening our doors ❤️

Pataskala is the name of the town in Ohio where my grandparents lived with their property boarding miles of apple orchards which is one of the greatest charms of this small town.

One of the main reasons I wanted to change the name of our coffee shop from Kal's to Pataskala is to honor my grandpa & grandma, Richard & Anne Beshuk.

Grandpa was a a woodworker who had a fascination for birds. I remember the binoculars that would sit in his sun room waiting for grandpa to watch these birds as they ate the seeds from the little houses he built for them with his own hands.

Grandma was one of the kindest people I knew and also one of the best listeners I've ever met. I loved sitting on the front porch eating popcorn with her & sipping on a root beer float as we snapped green beans and talked about life.

More than anything, I want to invite everyone coming to our coffee shop into even the smallest taste of what I've been able to experience within my childhood. A time to gather, a time to listen, a time to love and all of this accompanied by a delicious cup of coffee.

Little photo drop of our trip to Topeca Coffee Roaster in Tulsa ✨ we had a grand ol’ time and learned so much! It was also so encouraging to meet other women investing in the coffee industry. Daniel & I can’t wait to visit again soon.

This is REAL! I could not be more excited to announce that we are officially in the process to open Kal’s Wood & Coffee this summer on the Katy Trail in Rocheport ☕️

I could not have had this opportunity without the continued love and support of this community. There’s a lot of work to do, but Daniel and I are so thankful and excited. Wish us luck and we hope to see you soon ❤️
