Aye, ye may spy a simple box… but mark me words, there be secrets buried deeper than any landlubber’s eyes can see… Only a couple days left until we’ll be at the M&T Bank Clothesline Art & Fine Craft Festival at the Memorial Art Gallery (Memorial Art Gallery). This art festival has been Rochester’s biggest celebration of the arts for nearly 70 years—featuring work for sale by 300+ artists, live music, food trucks, hands-on family activities, and access to the museum.

I started making pendents this year on the lathe with left over pieces from other projects. My wife loved them so much that it’s now become one of my signature items. This pendent is made from Bethlehem olive wood. It carries centuries of history in every grain — and is a tiny piece of that legacy. Excited to share that not only did we have a great couple days at Cornhill Arts Festival but we also came home with a third place ribbon in our category! Though we received rave reviews overall, the show stopper, our apothecary chest of curiousities, is what locked the award in! After returning home, I’ve continued to work on the chest and can’t wait to share the whole thing soon! Question for anyone that reads this - what would you put in an apothecary chest?
