About the Company:
Book1One is a print and production bindery that specializes in personalized books as well as short run book projects ranging from 1 to 1,000. Started in 2005, we are a solid company that has an excellent record of growth and stability. We are currently expanding our print capabilities and are looking to hire an experienced individual to be our lead digital press operator.
About the position:
This is a full time, first shift position with a multitude of benefits including heath, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k as well as paid vacation and holidays. The position is Monday - Friday with overtime on weekends as needed or extended shifts during the week. You will setup, calibrate, operate, and maintain a variety of digital press equipment including a HP 7600 and HP 12000 sheet-fed press. You will be responsible for making adjustments to the machines as needed. You will be expected to efficiently and effectively operate multiple machines simultaneously as well as preform daily/weekly/monthly preventative maintenance on the equipment. You will also be responsible for additional maintenance on the machines such as replacing worn belts, sensors, and motors and coordinating with field service engineers to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair the equipment as needed. You will be responsible for maintaining substrate and pressroom supply inventory and expected to turn in order slips as needed to ensure consistent flow and operation of the presses. When needed, you will be required to assist on the production floor for various tasks. It will also be your responsibility to maintain quality control standards for all print being sent to the production floor.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years with direct experience with HP Indigo digital printing equipment required.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability and confidence to troubleshoot, maintain and repair damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
Familiar with Mac and PC operating systems and comfortable using a computer.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including effective listening.
Must be able to work safely, communicate well, and produce quality work at an efficient pace.
Manage time well and prioritize tasks. Must be well organized and be able to maintain a clean working environment and maintain minimal waste.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to bend, lift, and squat while loading, unloading and preforming maintenance on machines.
Ability to stand for a full shift.
Ability to lift 50lbs consistently and up to 80lbs frequently.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour based on HP Indigo certifications and previous experience.
