Talk about a full-circle moment... 💜🌿
Three years ago, when I first stood among the olive trees at Moulin A Huile du Mas Saint Jean in Provence, France, the idea of OliveMe hadn't even entered my mind. I had no idea where my newfound love of the olive tree would lead.
To return three years later and see Anne wearing an OliveMe shirt—knowing that her family's story helped inspire my own journey—was truly a full-circle moment.
So, how did we get from that first visit three years ago to this moment?
Moulin Saint Jean and its olive groves have been cared for by the Sourdon family for four generations. Today, sisters Anne and Magali continue their family's legacy with a love for their olive trees, a passion for producing exceptional olive oil, and a commitment to carrying on the traditions passed down through their family.
Before our trip, I had reached out to Anne and Magali and shared a little about OliveMe and how much our first visit to Moulin Saint Jean had inspired me. Over the months leading up to our trip, we exchanged emails, and I sent them a small package from South Carolina with a couple of OliveMe shirts as a thank-you.
I hoped we might have the opportunity to meet them during our visit, but I really didn't know what to expect.
Fast-forward to our tour...
We were enjoying a wonderful tour and olive oil tasting when Anne noticed Cary's OliveMe shirt and suddenly realized who we were.
Her reaction was priceless!
A few minutes later, she disappeared...and came back wearing the purple OliveMe shirt I had sent her—with the biggest smile.
Talk about a moment I will never forget. 💜
There we were, back at the place that had helped spark my love for the olive tree three years earlier, and now I was standing beside one of the women whose family had been part of that inspiration—and she was wearing OliveMe.
Moments like this remind me how blessed I am to have the opportunity to share what OliveMe has come to mean to me—the importance of loving and accepting ourselves, embracing where we are in life, and believing that, just like the olive tree, we really can get better with age. 🌿
I started OliveMe hoping that message might resonate with others. I never imagined that one day I'd travel back to the place that helped inspire it and see a little piece of OliveMe reflected back at me.
Thank you, Anne and Magali, and the Sourdon family, for your hospitality, your inspiration, and for continuing to share your family's love of the olive tree with others.
We certainly hope this won't be our last visit!
