Dolly Parton and vintage lovers believe the same thing: nothing has to match to belong.

Turquoise eyeshadow next to rhinestones. A hand-carved duck next to a row of worn wooden rolling pins. It shouldn’t work — it works anyway.

That’s the whole point. It doesn’t have to match. It has to belong.

A brass Art Nouveau sconce, patina intact. A Norman Rockwell print, still in its original frame. A faded plaid pillow with decades of sun in it. Hand-painted heart canisters, a stoneware pitcher, a milk glass lamp with gilt florals.

And this — a hand-painted perpetual calendar, signed by the artist, with a tiny cottage scene above the day slats. Someone made this on purpose.

All of it’s leaving here to actually be used again.
