Today is the day!!! Come on out to the Boone County Fairgrounds for .farmgirl Main Street Market. The ever so popular bowl cozies have been restocked and Pete stepped up his game…literally with bar ring toss and nok hockey. It’s a beautiful day to support local vendors and amazing food trucks while listening to live music!!

Getting ready for .farmgirl Main Street Market is never pretty, clean, or organized, but I can tell you what is pretty…..my NEW SEWING MACHINE!!! I have waited over 14 years for a new machine and this year I finally said my last swear word at my sewing machine and got this beauty! I will be making so many trees, headbands, bowl cozy’s, neck wraps, and new secret items that will be revealed in the coming months that she won’t even know what hit her! She even tells me she was “made to create” when I turn her on and I’m here to do just that! Come find Pearl, Oliver & Co., and I this coming Saturday at the Boone County Fairgrounds to see our new and improved booth.

Sorry I have been so quiet lately, I have been a busy little bee getting ready for Urban Farmgirl Main Street Market that is in just TWO weeks! So many new things in the works with these amazing Boro wovens that I will be bringing with me! Stay tuned this week for lots of sneak peeks! Happy Mother’s Day out there to all of the amazing mamas. I know that this mama will be doing what she loves to do today….SEWING!

Tell me you live in the Midwest without telling me you live in the Midwest….I’ll go first 🥶. They were probably wondering why on earth I was carrying in 2 sewing machines at night looking like a complete wack a doodle. They are going in to get serviced tomorrow at one of my shops and I couldn’t leave them in the car overnight. Have to get them all ready to start making some new goodies for Main Street Market this Spring!!!

It’s time for the Instagram Hop and GIVEAWAY for the new Moda All-Stars book, Soft Spots, from !

Martingale has done it again with another great book filled to the brim with so many different and amazing pillows that it’s hard to choose just one!

When I was asked last October to be a part of this amazing book alongside some incredible designers, I was thrilled!! Pillows tend to take over in this house….because I love making them! You can never have too many pillows - especially with a family of 7!

My pillow, This Way and That, using Smoke and Rust, is a little bit “outside the box” with raw-edge appliqué for the triangles with the same raw-edge edge trim as opposed to a more finished look.

My favorite size pillow to make is a down filled 20 x 20, but don’t forget to cut your fabric slightly smaller to make sure your pillow is nice and plump. If I had to choose another size to make, it would be the lumbar so that you can have a little variation in your throw pillows.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the .farmgirl Christmas Launch this past weekend. The amount of trees, key fobs, and headbands that you all purchased from little old me was completely overwhelming. And my hubby Pete with all of his wood trees wasn’t left out either!!! The crazy late nights of sewing and the huge messes I created were are turned into these beautiful displays. I wish I could have posted them all, but I’m only allow 10 pictures. If you do one this this Holiday Season, make sure you make the trip to Urban Farmgirl in Rockford, IL to see the Christmas magic she has created. Plus you can see my girl Pearl all warm and cozy inside for the winter. She looks awfully cute piled up high with presents.
