This item is from the 1960s. The idea was whoever in the family did something "wrong" (didn't pick up room, etc) their dog was hung in the doghouse. We know because there was one at house when we were young. It was retired when our brother was born because there wasn't a sixth dog. We don't know what happened to the one we had, probably lost in a move. Picture found on Pinterest.

This looks to be a page from a Seth Thomas clock catalog. Judging from the style of the clocks, late 1960s to early 1970s. Most of the floor clocks are pinch waist style which was popular then. As it got into the late 1970s and into the 1980s, straight sided floor clocks became more popular. Also, Seth Thomas phased out floor clocks from their line by the late 1980s, if we remember right.

Should we get a train case or a briefcase? We remember our mother always had a train case among the luggage when we went on family vactions. Samsonite, of course. Our father didn't have an office job but he carried a briefcase that he fitted up to hold his tools and items that he needed to when he made housecalls on grandfather clocks. He had his service guys carry briefcases too. He felt briefcases looked nicer for clock calls over a toolbox or bag. Ad found on Pinterest.

For years, it seems when it came watches, people were seeking Mickey Mouse watches from the 1930s. Mickey, however, was not the only character with a watch.

Here is a Popeye pocketwatch from 1934-1935, made by New Haven Watch Company which was part of the New Haven Clock Company. The New Haven Companies ceased production in 1956. In the 1970s and 1980s, Burwood Industries brought the name back for their line of decorative electric and battery operated clocks. Photo found online.
