HOLDING A PIECE OF HISTORY! (Note this is not our card and will be headed to auction - see story)

A few months back, friend of the shop, Jason D, privately shared with me that he had pulled a redemption for the Victor Wembanyama Superfractor Autograph 1/1 out of a box of Topps that he purchased directly from Fanatics.

Jason was super patient on waiting for the redemption to be completed. I don’t think I could have waited!

Well, last week he finally got it in hand and brought it by the shop. I was able to hold this bad boy knowing that it’s going to fetch some serious money.

Jason has decided to submit the card to Goldin Auctions and it will be featured in the Premier Auction starting May 11th and ending June 6th.

Jason is one of the great guys I know and I’ll be rooting for him to sell this card and get top dollar for it.

Congrats on a once-in-a-lifetime pull to Jason and let’s hope the Spurs and Wemby go far this playoff season! We will all be keeping an eye on it and hoping for the best!

Today, I spent the afternoon in Vegas at the .foundation event where dozens of athletes and business professionals got together for the kickoff of the Biletnikoff Charity Golf event that starts tomorrow!

True Sports Cards is proud to announce our participation in bringing great autographed memorabilia to be auctioned off to raise money for this wonderful organization.

Angela and Fred Biletnikoff have been incredible to work with and I’m happy that I was able to be here to see this annual event up close and personal.

Thanks to all those who are going home with a great memorabilia piece by donating to the Foundation!

Although our shop has only been around for a little over four years, I’ve been working with different athletes for more than a decade. Today this popped up in my Facebook feed that happened five years ago today.

I had the pleasure of flying to NYC to meet and work with the legendary Walt Frazier for a private signing I did with him.

We met at his restaurant “Swish & Dish” and while I was nervous meeting him, the man couldn’t have been nicer.

Walt signed around 500 items and after the signing we did dinner and he shared all kind of stories about the NBA and New York Knicks history.

It was also one of the first times I ever started asking for lots of inscriptions on rookie cards because at that time, it was rare to see players putting that many inscriptions on one card.

“That’s a lot of things to write on one card….” he said.

I said, “Well then you shouldn’t have been so great and you would have all these inscriptions to add!”

These experiences have helped me shape the business that I run today.

I’ll be sharing more of these past experiences in the future!

The in store Barbie Blank signing was a success! Easily one of the nicest guests we have had the honor of hosting in store for a signing!

She was incredibly personable to all of her fans that came out to meet her. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience for our customers.

And congrats to Barbie as “Kelly Kelly” was recently added as a new character in the WWE 2K26 video game!

When it comes to owning a card shop, I just never know what’s going to walk through the door!

A while back, I bought an estate collection. I didn’t really go through it in detail but I did buy the whole storage unit.

Fast forward about a year later. I finally got a chance to look through the inventory and at the bottom of one of the boxes, I found this.

A 1948 Babe Ruth EXACTA wrist watch - never used with original packaging and even the instruction manual! Perfect condition!

I did some research and I’m happy to put this one up for sale.

Someone sold a similar one without matching documentation on eBay 4/22/26 for $1277.28.

True Sports Cards in the community on back-to-back nights!

Friday night, we set up to provide auction items for the 20/30 Sacramento club - a club that provides business collaboration between people in their 20’s and 30’s. With thousands for dollars of money raised for the organization, led the way on behalf of True being part of the fundraising.

Saturday night, set up in Whitney Ranch for the FC Rocklin Soccer team and raised thousands for the organization.

Two nights. Two events. Two times out in our community helping raise money for these great organizations.

Being involved in our community is important and if you have an event for your organization, DM me if you have interest in having our charity program be a part of your event!

BTW - FC Rocklin event happened because the organizer for this event, saw our last post about having us come out local events. Now it’s your chance to reach out and have our team bring items to your next fundraiser!
