Only 8–12% of former foster youth earn a college degree by their mid-to-late 20s — compared to 49% of the general population.

And just 1 in 2 foster youth have gainful employment by age 24.

This isn't a failure of the young people — it's a gap in the support systems around them. When youth transition out of care without mentors, housing stability, or financial guidance, the odds are stacked against them before they even begin.

Compassion Planet works to close that gap — connecting at-risk and formerly foster youth in California with the tools, mentorship, and community they need to thrive. 💛
