What a great morning in Downtown Rockmart!

We were happy to join Rivers Alive and Keep Polk Beautiful this morning at Seaborn Jones Park and along the Silver Comet Trail. It was wonderful to see such a great turnout, with folks from Cedartown and several of our local groups coming together to lend a hand.

A special thank you to Keep Polk Beautiful and Rivers Alive for caring about our Downtown Rockmart area and for the work you do to help keep our community and its natural spaces beautiful.

Thank you for allowing us to be a small part of it. We had a great time working alongside everyone.

It’s always encouraging to see our downtown business owners actively engaged in shaping our future, rather than just observing from the sidelines. Today, Jason at Enthuza Cycles and Tina Lanier, our Downtown Authority’s Outreach Committee chair, hosted this month’s Coffee Drop on maximizing the potential of the Silver Comet Trail right here in Historic Downtown Rockmart.

Jason gave us a fantastic look at what Enthuza Cycles is bringing to the table and shared some exciting hints about what’s on the horizon. These Coffee Drop meetings are vital—they bring our business owners together, providing a real vehicle for collaboration and tangible growth.

There is so much more happening in this town than many realize. It’s easy to look elsewhere and wish for something different, but we are focused on building something uniquely ours. We are Rockmart—The One and Only—and we’re proud to be like no other town.

At the Georgia Downtown Conference this week with Ann and Scott, soaking up ideas from downtown folks all over the state.

I keep coming back to how lucky we are that the City of Rockmart actually believes in this district — not every downtown gets that kind of backing. It’s a good reminder that when a city chooses to invest like that, the rest of us have to show up and be good stewards of it. That’s not lost on me.

Grateful for the Georgia Downtown Association too, for putting on something like this every year. Bringing home a notebook full of ideas for Historic Downtown Rockmart.
