I had the loveliest visit yesterday, Lola came by to show me her mermaid collection. She has been buying a mermaid from me every year since she was a little girl, and every summer she brings them all with her when she comes back to Rockport. I was touched by how sweet she was, and how excited her and her family were over their yearly visits to the store.

We braved to heat to see the always magical Quarry Dance put on by Windhover Center for Performing Arts The dancers this year were from the NYC troupe of Allison Cook Beattie.

We’ve been watching Widow’s Bay and enjoying the location shots in and around Rockport. The third episode called “The Inaugural Swim” was filmed on this pretty little beach in Gloucester called Half Moon Beach. Pictured here is my sunnier version of the beach from the book “A Day in Gloucester” and while there aren’t any Sea Hags in the picture, there is another magical creature…
