👟 Shoe Drive Update! 👟

We’re already collecting shoes, and we couldn’t be more thankful for everyone who has donated so far! Every pair helps The Encouragement Project continue sharing the love of Christ in our community.

📅 Join us at the Riverton Parke Volleyball Game on August 20 for our first big collection night! Bring a pair (or several!) of gently used shoes, and every pair you donate earns you one raffle ticket for a chance to win 4 FREE admission tickets to Hobson’s Adventure Farm!

Update from The Encouragement Project:

Help us collect shoes!! Shoes will not only help us fund future outreach projects we are working on but also by giving shoes a second life you can help others. Collection nights will also give us a chance to connect with our community.
For those of you who enjoy statistics:
👞About 300 million pairs of shoes are thrown away in the US every year.
👠 95% of used footwear end up in landfills or incinerated instead of being reused.
👟 A single pair of athletic shoes can take SEVERAL years to break down in a landfill
♥️ more importantly you can donate and become part of a ripple effect for something bigger 💦

📬 💙 Tomorrow is Mail Day—and a special one at that!

This mailing marks one year of Dear You. I’m so grateful for every prayer, every story, and every person God has placed along this journey. Thank you for being part of it!

A quick reminder: while new subscriptions have ended, anyone can still send a Dear You letter anytime—including August’s letter—to encourage someone who needs it.

Also, every donation now goes directly to support The Encouragement Project, helping us continue sharing Christ’s love through encouragement.

As promised an update:

Today is the beginning of something God has been stirring in our hearts for a long time.

Welcome to The Encouragement Project. 🤍

First…why the name? It’s actually quite simple (because we need simple…right?)

Encouragement is what we feel God has called us to do.

Project is because this isn’t something we’ll ever “finish.” It’s an ongoing journey that will continue to grow, change, and become whatever God leads it to be. We don’t have it all planned out—and we don’t think we’re supposed to.

The Encouragement Project is a community outreach ministry of Bridgeton Baptist Church, and our heart is simply to meet people where they are and share the love of Jesus.

If we’re being honest, we’re just ordinary people who said “yes” to Jesus.

We’re not experts. We don’t have all the answers. We’re simply people who have experienced the hope, grace, and love of Christ, and we believe that love was never meant to stop with us.

So we’re taking what He’s given us and passing it on.

Tonight you’ll find us at National Night Out with free bottled water, a Prayer Station, and open hearts.

If you’d like someone to pray with you, we’d be honored.

If praying out loud isn’t comfortable, that’s okay too. We’ll have prayer cards and a prayer drop box where you can write your request privately. Every request will be prayed over because we believe God sees you, loves you, and hears every prayer.

Whether you stop by for a bottle of water, ask for prayer, share a burden, or simply say hello, we’d love to meet you.

Our mission is simple:

Meet people where they are and share the love of Jesus, because love was never meant to stop with us.

Thank you for being here at the very beginning. We have no idea all that God has in store, but we’re excited to follow Him one step at a time—and we’d love for you to come along on the journey.

Dear You isn’t going away… it’s entering a new season. 🤍

One year ago, God placed a simple idea on my heart: to send encouragement through the mail. Every letter has had one purpose—to remind someone they are seen, loved, and never alone.

Over the past year, I’ve watched God use this ministry in ways I never imagined. As I’ve prayed about the future, it’s become clear that the mission isn’t changing—God is simply expanding it.

As we celebrate one year of Dear You this August, I have an important update.

Beginning August 1st, I will no longer be accepting new Dear You subscriptions. Those who are currently subscribed will forever be known as the Founding Family of Dear You.

If you’re currently subscribed, nothing will change. You’ll continue receiving your monthly encouragement through the remainder of your subscription, just as promised.

After that, Dear You will continue through donation-supported letters as God leads. Donations will help support The Encouragement Project, allowing us to encourage people both through the mail and through community outreach. More information about that is coming soon!

The envelopes may not be as full as they once were, but the heart behind every letter will remain exactly the same. Every letter will still be prayed over, rooted in Scripture, and sent with the hope of pointing someone to Jesus.

Dear You has always been about meeting people where they are. That will never change.

Dear You was never the destination. It was the beginning of something bigger.

Thank you for believing in this ministry, praying for it, and walking this journey with me. I truly believe the best is still ahead, and I can’t wait to share what’s next.
