RELIEF. Models this morning show wildfire smoke exiting late Friday night / early Saturday morning for most of the state. However, we believe that there is a good chance that smoke returns over the later half of the weekend as northwest winds will direct the smoke back into our area. It is not yet known how thick the next round will be.

We will have more on the AQI forecast later this morning.

Just a friendly reminder:
As of right now, you CAN NOT grind your fish guts in the fish cleaning station; the grinder has been SHUT OFF as of orders from the waste water treatment plant.
Today we were saddened to see that someone had tried to put the fish guts into the grinder, and tore the sign down off of the button that said what to do with them.
If this happens again, we will have to shut down the fish cleaning station! We want to continue providing this station, but if one person ruins it, then it will be ruined for everybody.
Pictured below are the waste bins for the fish guts. The DPW will empty the bins regularly.
Thank you!

What a weekend! Thank you to everyone who came out for the Jolly Rogers City Pirate Festival ... the turnout made it one to remember.

We’re grateful to every sponsor, volunteer, business, and neighbor who helped make it happen.

And there’s no time to rest, because this week is packed downtown:

Thursday, 7pm – City Band performs at Lakeside Park Bandshell

Friday, 9am–12pm – Farmers Market

Friday, 7pm – Brayden Lape, Top 5 finalist on The Voice Season 22, performs at the Lakeside Park Bandshell

Friday night through the weekend – Presque Isle Girls Softball Tournament

Saturday, 3–6pm – Line Dancing at the Lakeside Park Bandshell with DJ Vinny

Sunday – Great Lakes Relay finishes at Lakeside Park Beach
Also Sunday, July 19, 3–6pm – Summer Block Party at St. John Lutheran School

So many good things happening in Rogers City this week. Have an event of your own? We’d love to help spread the word, send it our way.
