For those asking about the Coke, Hershey bar, and “Gary” koozie I had at Callapalooza—it was a tribute to my dad, Gary, who we lost a month before the event. He always said there was no better combo than a Coke and a Hershey bar. The koozie features a .wilson.jr song that fits him perfectly: a man who could fix anything and loved a good smoke:

“There ain’t a lot of boys named Gary these days
Born with a cigarette glued to their face
Fix about anything a hammer can handle
Saving all their money ‘cause a Gary don’t gamble”

In traditional fashion, Callapalooza ends and “Haulapalooza” gets posted. This year was a little different with being a part of the callmakers comp, so the ‘haul’ looks a little different. But dang, what a heck of a haul and an even better experience! I hope I didn’t forget anyone here…

Wow…just wow! 2026 marks the 50th anniversary of . This past week has been a full circle moment. I grew up using RNT calls (I remember nerding out the first time I met Butch, John, & Jimbo years ago), then later in life got into making my own calls…and on Saturday I wrapped up making x3 calls in the shop of & with my teammates & Bob Wiseman for the Callmakers build-off at Callapalooza. It was an honor and an absolute dream come true to participate in this event, with this year honoring the late Butch Richenback, who founded RNT in 1976.

After 10 hours over the course of 3 days in John’s shop, I’m ecstatic to say that our team was chosen as the winners of this year’s competition! It was tough going up against our competitors who put out x3 insane calls. absolutely crushed it on their entries…it was fun (and nerve wracking) going up against those guys!

Huge thanks to John & Angie Stephens for putting on another incredible year of Callapalooza…you all have done so much for the art of callmaking & call collecting! To the staff of RNT…y’all are the absolute best…loved catching up with everyone again! I can’t thank for coaching us on day 3 for the Main Street call…your expertise helped us secure the win! A special thanks to my great friend Rob at for capturing so many great shots of both teams and the overall event…I’ll cherish these the rest of my life. Lastly, thank you for the opportunity to participate in this event. It truly was a dream come true.
