Before: A bare garage slab with nothing between the concrete and the moisture that naturally works its way up from below.

After: A moisture barrier laid down first, then a Cabin Fever flake system and a polyaspartic top coat, installed by the MACH ONE crew.

The barrier is the part that never shows up in an after photo, but it's the reason the coating on top of it won't bubble or peel the way it can without one. Skip that step, and the finish is only as good as the slab's ability to stay dry underneath.

These new homeowners in Norfolk, Virginia were looking for ways to make their house feel more like 'them.' The MACH ONE crew installed a full epoxy flake system in a 1/4-inch Mushroom flake blend across the two-car garage, plus a concrete coating on the stem walls providing added protection.

Concrete slabs release moisture from underneath long after they're poured, and that moisture can make epoxy coatings fail if you don't prepare for it.

The MACH ONE crew started this garage floor project with a moisture v***r barrier, then installed a 1/4-inch Feather Gray flake blend and a polyaspartic top coat.

The barrier is one version of prep that never shows up in the after photos and often matters the most.

If your garage floor has ever bubbled or peeled, ask whether a v***r barrier was part of the original install.

Our team completed this warehouse using a heavy duty resinous flooring system designed for long-term durability and easy maintenance.

System installed:
• 12 mil moisture v***r barrier primer
• 20 mil high-build epoxy body coat
• Hi-Wear matte urethane top coat
• Safety striping throughout the warehouse

The result is a clean, seamless floor that stands up to heavy equipment traffic while giving the customer a professional workspace that’s easy to keep clean.

Casemate Museum sits inside a fort at Fort Monroe, Virginia, and its exhibit rooms see a steady stream of visitors year round. Old concrete under that kind of traffic gets slick, stained, and hard to keep looking presentable.

The MACH ONE crew handled 1,100 square feet there recently, prepping the surface thoroughly before installing an epoxy flake floor in a 1/4 inch Stoney Creek blend, chosen for slip resistance and a look that wouldn't feel out of place next to museum exhibits.

Efflorescence doesn't show up right away. It's the chalky white mineral deposit that creeps up concrete stem walls months after a floor gets coated, and by then it's already stained the finish.

For a recent two-car garage project in Norfolk, the MACH ONE crew coated the stem walls at the same time as the 1/4-inch Mushroom flake floor, not after. Same visit, one less repair down the road.

A stem wall left bare is the easiest step to skip and an expensive one to fix later.
