🦐💜 "What is THAT?!" Meet Cerinthe: The Weirdest, Most Magical Filler at the Stand!

If you’ve been looking closely at our wrapped market arrangements, you’ve probably noticed an incredible, metallic-looking stem that has everyone asking, "What in the world is that flower?" 🧐🌾

Meet Cerinthe, commonly known as Honeywort or the Blue Shrimp Plant!

This is hands-down the oddest and completely mesmerizing filler foliage we grow at SAPco Farm. Native to the rugged Mediterranean coast, cerinthe completely flips the script on what a bouquet filler flower should look like.

DAHLIAS!

These aren't your average garden-center varieties. We are harvesting premium, collector-tier dinner-plate and ball dahlias featuring incredible geometric petal structures and jaw-dropping designer shades—from dusty antique blushes to rich, velvety plums.

Because dahlias must be cut at peak open maturity to last in a vase, we are out in the field early, hand-selecting every single bloom and plunging them into deep conditioning buckets to ensure maximum freshness for your table.

These are highly limited and always the very first variety to disappear from the stand. Grab your keys and come grab a bundle of pure local luxury before they're gone!

The school bells are ringing, the classrooms are being decorated, and a brand new school year is officially underway! 🔔📚

To all of our incredible local educators, administrators, and support staff heading back to the classrooms this week! We know how much heart, energy, and sleepless nights you pour into our community's children.

Zinnias are our family's absolute favorite crop to cut! They are incredibly tough, child-proof flowers. The stems are sturdy enough for little hands to handle, and because they produce more blooms the more you cut them, it is the perfect row for the kids to practice harvesting.

At SAPco Farm, we use our own saved seeds alongside specialty selections to bring you these jaw-dropping, tropical-looking giants. Even though our farm is located in a crisp northern climate, these cold-hardy perennials return every year to produce massive, ruffled blossoms that can reach up to 10 to 12 inches across—literally the size of a dinner plate.

🌻When you stand at the beginning of our sunflower block at SAPco Farm, you aren’t looking at a random wildflower patch.

If you plant a sunflower by itself in an open yard, it grows a stem as thick as a baseball bat and a heavy head the size of a tire. By planting our sunflowers in dense, tightly spaced rows, we force the plants to compete for sunlight. They stretch upward elegantly, creating the sleek, strong stems and perfectly proportioned 4-to-6-inch heads that look beautiful in a vase.
