The Bean Shack THE ORIGINAL BEAN SHACK at Parke County’s Covered Bridge Festival in Bridgeton, Indiana. Authentically rustic since 1977.

Since 1977, The Bean Shack has been using cast-iron cauldrons over a wood-burning fire pit to slowly smoke our beloved ham and beans to perfection. Served with sweet cornbread, this Indiana Fall favorite has been comforting palates from all over the world during the Covered Bridge Festival in Bridgeton, Indiana.

As our season comes to a close, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of our amazing customers. Your support, smiles, and continued loyalty mean the world to us.
Whether you stopped by once or came back again and again, thank you for making this season such a success. We couldn’t do it without you, and we’re already looking forward to seeing you again next year!

Thank you everyone for coming out this year and supporting The Bean Shack! We enjoy your visits and stories. Tomorrow is the last day of the festival. Also, last day to get take home beans in a 32 ounce cup with cornbread. You can freeze the beans and have them throughout the year. 🙂 The ham and beans are made over an open fire then packaged. Don’t let the rain scare you away tomorrow…less crowds and good deals.

Take-home beans are available in limited quantities. We recommend picking yours up at your earliest convenience…don’t miss out! They come in a 32 ounce container for $12 with cornbread.
