✨Crazy fact: Calandria agates were found while digging a grave! ✨
There’s a bit of lore out there that says these agates relate to a treasured singer named Anatia who “sang like a Calandria bird.” When her family was preparing for her burial, they found these beautiful stones in the soil. So... that's how the stones got their name!
Calandria come from the same general area as Laguna agates, Parcelas, Casas Grandas, and 17 others in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. They are often made up of white and cream colors, and frequently show tiny white “platelets” that seem to float through the banding like snowflakes. Purple and other colors are a rare treat.
