The Neighbors Coffee & Books

The Neighbors Coffee & Books Hi! We're The Neighbors Coffee & Books, a coffee shop and used bookstore in downtown Rossford!

One more thing we wanted to add to our luminaries for the littlest neighbors šŸ¤

We are putting together a remembrance scrapbook to keep here at The Neighbors, filled with the luminaries made for the babies who are so deeply loved and missed.

If you made a luminary with us, or if you had us make one for you, you are welcome to send us a photo of your baby to include alongside it.

And when we say *all* photos are welcome, we mean all photos.

If the photos you cherish most are from when your baby was living, we would be honored to include them.

If the photos you have are from after your baby passed, we are honored to include those too. Their beautiful faces are still beautiful. Their photos are still precious. Their lives are still worthy of being seen, remembered, and spoken about.

You will never need to apologize, explain, or wonder if a photo is ā€œtoo muchā€ for us šŸ¤

The scrapbook will be clearly marked as a remembrance book when we have it out in the shop, so anyone who chooses to look through it will understand what it contains before opening it.

We want this to be a permanent little place in The Neighbors where these babies can continue to be part of our community, names, faces, stories and all.

You can message your photo to us anytime, whether you were able to attend that night or we made your luminary for you šŸ¤

FIRST OF ALL, KEAGEN HIT HIS GOAL šŸ¦‡šŸ‘

And that was NOT us. That was the community showing up, sharing, donating, supporting, and helping this kid make his Eagle Scout project happen for Nature’s Nursery. Which is extremely cool and exactly the kind of neighbor behavior we love to see.

BUTTTTT we’re not done with the bats just yet.

We’re keeping the Keagen drink around through the week, and we’ll donate from it to Nature’s Nursery in Keagen's name because apparently we have all collectively entered our tiny woodland creature philanthropy era.

Which brings us to our next announcement…

Y2K IS PACKING ITS LOW RISE JEANS AND LEAVING THE BUILDINGāœŒļø

Because starting SUNDAY…

šŸ”®āœØ PRACTICAL MAGIC TAKES OVER THE NEIGHBORS āœØšŸ”®

We’re talking apples. Cider. Witchy little drinks. Cozy fall chaos. Herbs. Candles. Bats. Probably an unreasonable amount of things hanging from the ceiling.

Basically, if Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman opened a coffee shop after making margaritas at midnight, we’re trying to get somewhere in that general vicinity.

Come grab a Keagen drink this week, help us keep supporting Nature’s Nursery, and then meet us Sunday when we trade our flip phones for spell books šŸ–¤šŸŒ™

We don’t make the rules, we just notice the patterns šŸ‘€

Apparently when the po-po comes to The Neighbors, they order The Poe ā˜•ļø and this is consistently several of the good officers of Rossford 🤣

Honestly, the commitment to the bit is unmatched.

šŸš” + Edgar Allan Poe + caffeine = just another day in the neighborhood.

At this point we may need to make it the unofficial drink of local law enforcement šŸ˜Ž

šŸ¦‡ OKAY NEIGHBORS, THIS ONE IS REALLY COOL šŸ¦‡

Keagen is an Eagle Scout working on a pretty incredible project for Nature’s Nursery. He’s building them a bat flight cage to help rehabilitate bats before they’re ready to head back out into the wild.

Which means, naturally, The Neighbors is now emotionally invested in the bats šŸ˜‚

So we’re helping Keagen raise some money with a special drink:

KEAGEN’S BAT FLIGHT
Blackberry and raspberry refresher, a little vanilla, and some magical night-sky shimmer.

A portion of every one sold will go toward Keagen’s project and help him get that flight cage built.

So come drink something pretty, support a local kid doing something genuinely awesome, and help take care of some of our smallest, weirdest, cutest little neighbors.

We love a good community project around here, even when the neighbors in question sleep upside down šŸ¦‡šŸ–¤

Okay, neighbors…since apparently you guys are just as excited about the new space as we are šŸ„¹šŸ–¤

We have gotten SO many messages asking what we need, sending us Marketplace finds, offering recommendations, and asking how you can help us bring this vision in our heads to life.

So instead of answering 900 messages individually, here’s what we’re currently on the hunt for:

Tradespeople / contractor friends: plumbers, electricians, carpenters/handy people, and generally anyone who knows how to make old buildings behave šŸ˜‚ If you own a local business or have someone you LOVE, tag them!

Furniture: vintage couches, funky chairs, leather seating, coffee tables, side tables, bookshelves, cabinets, old church pews… basically anything that looks like it belongs in a slightly haunted library/lounge.

A pool table: preferably something with some age and character that fits the vibe. We’re absolutely willing to purchase!

Antiques & art: old paintings, portraits of strangers’ ancestors, ornate frames, lamps, mirrors, weird little objects, vintage signs, books, brass things, dark wood things, and anything that makes you say, ā€œThis is kind of weird, but The Neighbors would love it.ā€

And YES! we are looking to purchase these things. We’re not asking everyone to furnish our coffee shop for free šŸ˜‚

We just know you guys are incredible at finding things, know people we don’t know, and have been asking what we’re looking for.

That being said, if you have something collecting dust that you genuinely WANT to donate to its new life at The Neighbors, we will absolutely treasure it and probably tell everyone who walks in where it came from 🄹

We want this space to feel like it belongs to Rossford. Collected, weird, warm, old, cozy, and built with a whole lot of help from our neighbors.

So send us your Marketplace finds. Tag your contractor friends. Show us the weird painting in Grandma’s basement.

Operation: Build a Bigger, Weirder Neighborhood is officially underway šŸ–¤

We’ve heard the rumors that The Neighbors is moving to a bigger space…

And they’re true.

But before anybody starts panicking:

WE’RE MOVING NEXT DOOR 🤣

Like…literally. Next. Door.

We love Rossford. We love this little corner of the neighborhood. We love what we’ve built here with all of you, so we’re not going anywhere.

We’re just getting A LOT MORE ROOM TO BE YOUR NEIGHBORS.

Our new home is about 3,500 square feet, which means we finally have room for all the things we’ve been dreaming about:

More coffee
FOOD. REAL FOOD.
More books
Antiques & weird old things
A pool table
A stage and LIVE MUSIC

More places to sit, stay awhile, read, work, hang out & meet your neighbors

More events, more late nights, more ridiculous themes, more community, more everything.

Basically, if The Neighbors Coffee & Books and your favorite cozy old neighborhood hangout had a baby…we’re building it.

When we opened these doors, we genuinely had no idea you guys would show up for us the way you have. We outgrew our little shop WAY faster than we ever imagined, and somehow, the exact space we needed was waiting for us right next door.

So no, The Neighbors isn’t leaving Rossford.

We’re putting down even bigger roots here šŸ–¤

Same Neighbors.
Same weird little family.
Same coffee.
Same community.

Just 3,500 square feet of room to get absolutely unhinged with it.

Welcome to the next chapter of The Neighbors.

And trust us…you haven’t seen anything yet šŸ‘€

Tonight, we’re making a little extra room in the neighborhood for the babies who should still be here šŸ’—šŸ©µ

We’re open 1–8 PM, and our Love, Levi drinks will be available all day (sprite dirty sodas-strawberry and vanilla and blue raspberry and vanilla). For every one sold, $1 will be donated to Sufficient Grace Ministries to support families walking through pregnancy and infant loss.

Then at 8 PM we’ll gather together for our candlelight vigil.

Bring their name. Bring their memory. Bring the love you still carry for them.

There is no timeline for grief, and there is no expiration date on being someone’s parent. Tonight, we simply want to give our neighbors a place where their babies can be remembered, their names can be spoken, and their lives, no matter how brief, can be honored.

For Levi, and for all of the littlest neighbors. šŸ’—šŸ©µ
