Themed deck event: Red, White, and Blue

This is a fun and casual event where each participant creates a deck revolving around a certain theme. The theme this time will be August Harvest. Your deck will showcase Pokémon and Trainer cards you believe best fits this theme. The best voted themed deck will receive a surprise Pokémon item. There will also be a tournament before the theme vote. The winner of the tournament will receive one of the newest Pokémon packs. All participants will receive a prize pack. Additional prizing will be based on participation.

Date of event will be August 29th at 1pm.
Buy-in will be $3

Rules for decks:
1. The deck size will be 40 cards instead of the standard 60.
2.There must be 5 fighting or dragon type Pokémon AND/OR Pokémon whose art features food. Duplicates count towards the required 5.
3. This event is unlimited, so cards from any set are allowed (with the exception of rule 4 cards).
4. No cards that will reward more than one prize card are allowed in the deck (No ex, vstar/vmax, mega, etc.)
5. All other deck rules still apply.

We also welcome anyone who would like to learn how to play the Pokémon TCG. We will have two decks available at the event available and will help teach anyone who wants to play. If you want any help or ideas on building a deck, don’t hesitate to reach out to Akira or come in on Saturdays 1-5pm during our Pokémon open play! All ages are welcome; all we ask is that kids are able to read most of their cards on their own and are capable of basic math (adding and subtracting by 10s). This will be a sanctioned event with Play! Pokémon so participants will need to have a trainer ID. We can help you get set up with an account. If you have any other questions about the event, please reach out to Akira.

Our MTG The Hobbit Prerelease is about a week away! Friday will have a separate Competitive and Casual events. Please note that registration must be completed in person. Refer to the Companion app for more information on each event.

Friday, August 7th - 6:00 PM

Both event registrations will begin at 4:00 PM. Competitive buy-in is $45; casual buy-in is $40. Deck building begins at 6:15 PM.

Saturday, August 8th - 1:00 PM

Registration will begin at 12:00 PM, deck building will begin at 1:15 PM.
