UPDATE: Gracie is still missing as of 9:20 a.m. June 25, according to Real County Sheriff Nathan Johnson and Cedar Hollow Ranch manager Vick Jones.

Despite reports to the contrary — and dozens, if not hundreds, of AI-generated "sightings" shared by area residents and businesses — Gracie the giraffe is still missing and continuing her tour of the Hill Country.

Cedar Hollow ranch manager Vick Jones said Gracie may have circumvented the ranch's high fence on a bluff and wandered away from there. Jones isn't concerned about Gracie going hungry or getting dehydrated because she is familiar with foraging in South Texas and eats oak, mesquite and acacia leaves.

Only in Texas would someone have to post, “Have you seen my giraffe?”

A giraffe named Gracie is currently on the loose in the Texas Hill Country after wandering away from Cedar Hollow Ranch near Leakey. The ranch, which has housed giraffes for more than 30 years, says Gracie somehow found her way into an area no previous giraffe had explored and ended up on the wrong side of a gate. Since then, she has been spotted on game cameras and reportedly seen on neighboring ranches as crews work to bring her home safely. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to her safe return.

The funny part is that most missing pet flyers involve a dog, cat, or maybe a horse. Gracie stands about as tall as a one-story building, has a very long neck, and is quite literally one of the easiest animals in Texas to spot. Yet somehow she’s still giving everyone the slip.

All jokes aside, everyone involved is focused on getting Gracie back safely. Ranch staff, neighboring landowners, and wildlife officials are working together to track her movements and make sure she returns home unharmed. Here’s hoping this Hill Country adventure ends soon and Gracie decides she’s done sightseeing around Texas. 🦒🤠

Shadow box a little girl wanted. She wanted a book, craft and I could chose the other room and since she likes music I did that. Turned out better than I thought it would! ❤️
