Quick veer off from Fabulous Finds and over to our equine rescue for some exciting news! ❤️

Three Mustangs — two geldings and one mare — are coming HOME to Jackie’s Place Equine Rescue & Sanctuary!🐴❤️

Two geldings and one mare — have been saved from the slaughter pipeline.

By now, many of you have probably heard about what is happening to America’s wild horses, especially following recent national reporting about Mustangs leaving federal holding and adoption programs and later appearing in the slaughter pipeline.

A huge THANK YOU to Michele Henderson, and Amy Ferguson Douglas for helping secure their safety and bring them home. 🙏🏻

Their journey starts in Colorado, followed by four weeks of quarantine in Texas, veterinary care in La Grange, and then finally HOME to Jackie’s Place, where they’ll have 40 acres to decompress, build trust and simply be horses again.

Rescue doesn’t end when the horse is saved — that’s when the work and expenses begin. Transport, quarantine, veterinary care, farrier care, feed and hay all add up.

I wear many different hats, and one of the most meaningful is running Jackie’s Place Equine Rescue & Sanctuary in Schulenburg, Texas. 🐴❤️

Since 2021, we’ve been dedicated to rescuing U.S. horses from the slaughter pipeline and giving them the safety, care, love, and second chances they deserve.

While this post is a little different from my usual interior decorating content, I wanted to keep you all in the loop and personally invite you—and your children—to some really fun events we have coming up!

I visited the Neon Armadillo in Wimberley, Texas, last night, and I have to say—I was completely inspired! 🎨✨

As an interior designer, I’m always drawn to beautiful details, and the colorful tile work throughout this restaurant absolutely caught my eye. It wasn’t just in the bathrooms—the tile, vibrant colors, outdoor spaces, and overall design flowed beautifully throughout the property.

And the ceilings! 😍 The colorful floral wallpaper completely transformed the space and added so much personality. As you move toward the bathroom area, the vibrant tile work and outdoor details just keep getting better. Every corner felt intentional, creative, and FUN!

The food was delicious, fresh, healthy, and organic, and the service was top-notch. It’s also extremely kid-friendly, making it a great place for the whole family.

I’ve always found myself gravitating toward gray, black, and white in my own design work, but this experience has me seriously inspired to start incorporating more vibrant color and bold tile into my next project. I can’t wait to see what comes of it! 💙💚💛🩷🧡
